Asinakekelane's first event was a candlelit vigil held to honour the life of Uyinene Mrwetyana who was raped and murdered in South Africa on August 24th, 2019. Unfortunately, Mrwetyana's death is just one in a pandemic of femicide currently plaguing Southern Africa. We were devastated by motivated by her death. From outrage comes courage.
