Asinakekelane, together with link group and the Student's Representative'a Council formulated and brought forward a list of demands to be considered and reached by the school in response to the black lives matter movement. This proved to be a success as the school promptly responded and amended their mistakes.
Next Steps
Moving forward, Asinakekelane continues to be an ally group for the movement and is open to finding new ways to contribute to fighting against racial discrimination and prejudice, starting within out community where we can have the biggest impact.
This means being open to have necessary conversations with students, staff and other members of our community about how we can cultivate change for a better future for everyone.
